Application Process

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in Community Interactions, Inc.! The mission of Community Interactions, Inc. is to provide quality services for people with intellectual, physical and behavioral health challenges to create lifestyles consistent with their communities respecting individual choice, self determination and culture.

We are committed to hiring the most capable and qualified individuals to provide support for people with disabilities who purchase services through our organization.

In order to pursue employment with us, you must be at least 21 years of age*, possess a current and valid driver's license with a clear driving record, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and be eligible for employment in the United States. You will be required to submit the following documents.

  • Proof of Highest Level of Education (High School diploma, GED, etc)
  • Driver's License
  • Proof of employment eligibility
  • References to include: 2 professional and 1 personal (References must be submitted to our Human Resources Department upon your first interview)

After receiving your application, please give at least two weeks for processing.  You will receive a confirmation postcard acknowledging the receipt of your application.  After your application has been received and reviewed, should it meet the minimum requirements, you will receive a pre-screening interview.  This is not a regular interview or an offer of employment.

All pre-screened candidates are placed into our applicant tracking system for review by Team Leaders and hiring managers.  Should your qualifications meet the specific needs of a home or program site, the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you to arrange an interview and/or site visit.  Following a successful in-person interview/site visit an offer of employment may be extended.

If you have received a pre-screening phone call, but have not been called for an interview, your application will remain on file and available for review by hiring managers for the next six months.

Any applicant whose file has been active for six months or who at any point in the application process is determined not to meet the qualifications or current needs of Community Interactions will receive a notification at the address on file.

Please be aware, that due to the large volume of applications received, it is not always possible to respond to specific inquiries.  Generally, a prospective candidate will go through several phases of screening and interviewing before an offer is extended.   We ask that all candidates be patient with the lengthy process.

Also, all candidates should be aware that offers of employment are made contingent upon the successful completion of a post-offer physical examination and drug screening, and successful completion of orientation. The cost of the pre-employment physical will be deducted from an employee’s first pay.  The cost of the pre-employment drug screening must be paid in cash to Springfield Occupational Health by the applicant. Further, Community Interactions New Hire Orientation is a 2 week process, running Monday-Friday 9a-5p.  All new hires, regardless of status or shift, are required to attend Orientation and successfully complete all courses.

If you have a desire to work with the individuals we support and meet our general requirements for employment, we look forward to welcoming you into the CI community.

Best wishes and Good Luck,
